Talking Streets in Maitland

Let’s walk & talk about Maitland
Talking Streets
Start Date
Saturday, April 8, 2017 - 10:00
End Date
Saturday, April 8, 2017 - 12:00
Venue
Meeting point: Corner of Voortrekker Road and Ferndale Drive, Maitland

The Voortrekker Road Corridor has been designated by the City of Cape Town as the core of an Integration Zone. This means it is identified as an area for social and spatial integration in the city, and for intensification of development.

Within this zone, Maitland has unique opportunities for this transformation to take place; due to the proximity to existing economic hubs and the Two Rivers Urban Park project (currently in planning stages). Accessibility to public transport is an essential part of Maitland’s functionality that can be improved through safer streets.

Join us as we partner with residents and the African Centre for Cities to undertake a walking audit to identify opportunities for greater accessibility through better street design.
